Barbera d'Asti Docg La Turna

La Turna is one of the best expressions of Barbera d'Asti Docg vintage present in the Asti area. It comes from the transformation of grapes produced in vineyards located on a mainly calcareous-sandy soil, therefore suited to bestowing fine wine aromas.

The grapes are softly pressed in the absence of the stalks. The pressed grapes are transferred to steel tanks and added with selected yeasts. Fermentation takes place in 8-10 days at a controlled temperature never above 28 ∞ C of which only 6 days in contact with the skins. The malolactic fermentation is induced in steel and the temperature is maintained above 20° C. The maturation period in steel lasts about 6 months without the use of clarifiers or filtration they would affect the body of the wine. After bottling, a further refinement of up to 3 months in the bottle is done, before being put on the market. Its pleasantness characterizes a daily consumption, for any occasion, without the wine losing its importance given by the careful selection of the grapes, designed from the vineyard to obtain an intense ruby red wine, fragrant and soft in the mouth.
